A man is going to get on the bus. You will already be sitting in a window seat, the preferable position for a 10 hour overnight ride. But the man will not have this option. You, hoping against hope that no one sits next to you and that you might use your neighbouring seat as a cheeto-hosting coffee table for 10 hours, will particularly hope that he not sit next to you. He is going to be very short, with bleached white hair, a cropped mesh tank top and leather pants, ones that can't possibly be comfortable to wear on an overnight bus trip. But, hell, they're not your pants. He is going to sit next to you. Of course he is, the weirdest looking dude on the bus, how could be not sit next to you? You are going to be concerned that he'll talk to you. I mean, he'll look like a talker, after all. Only, he isn't. Or, at least, he won't, opting instead to pull out a book. You'll peer over his shoulder so that you can read the title, and the title will be "Learning to Live With Your Aloneness."

Jessica Campbell is a painter living in Chicago, IL. She likes dogs and going to the movies.
